Amendment XIV
Section 1.
“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.”

The 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution was passed in 1868. This  Civil War Amendment includes a provision addressing USA citizenship.

The US Supreme Court recently announced that it would review an Executive Order questioning ‘birthright citizenship.’
