Empowering Parents, Students, and Teachers: Assistant Secretary Kirsten Baesler on the Future of Education
Posted on by Tom Novak

In this segment, Jeff Chidester chats with Kirsten Baesler, Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education, to discuss major shifts occurring at the U.S. Department of Education designed to put families and local communities first.

Building on momentum highlighted in The Hill’s commentary, Parents are winning — and the Department of Education is leading the charge, Baesler breaks down how federal initiatives are actively reinforcing the “educational trinity”—the vital partnership between parents, students, and teachers.
The conversation explores ongoing efforts to restore oversight and accountability to state and local levels, ensuring that education decisions are driven by local communities rather than top-down federal mandates.
