NH Representative Jessica Grill: The Lack of Decorum at the NH State House
NH Representative Jessica Grill: The Lack of Decorum at the NH State House

Tensions can build, and conflicts can arise at the New Hampshire statehouse. Far too often lately, conflicts and disagreements cross the line…way over the line.

NH State Rep. Grill hosts a bipartisanship gathering at a local restaurant in Concord. The gathering, known as the ‘karaoke caucus,’ is a volunteer event to ‘blow off steam’ after long and sometimes contentious sessions.

NH state Rep. Travis Corcoran took exception to the public post about the gathering, or maybe, like the Burgermeister Meisterburger from the Christmas special ‘Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town,’ Corcoran just did not like the villagers having fun.

Who knows, but Corcoran posts online in response to the singing  –  “We need a final solution for theater kids in politics,” which any reasonable person educated in the events of World War Two would interpret as a reference to the Holocaust.

NH House Speaker Serman Packard best summarized the concern with the statement:

“The recent rhetoric shared by Rep. Corcoran is deeply inappropriate and has no place in the New Hampshire House. Any language that invokes violence, hate or intolerance is unacceptable by any member……Our institution is built on respect and the responsibility to serve all Granite Staters with dignity and professionalism. Conduct that undermines that mission does not reflect our values. Members of the House are expected to uphold the standards of the body and honor the trust placed in them by their constituents.”

Rep. Jessica Grill joins WFEA to dicuess the upcoming House Legislative Administrative Committee meeting scheduled for April 27, 2026, to address this matter and the potential disciplinary actions.
