Policy Expert Drew Cline: Stronger Workforce Education and Statewide Tax Cap

Policy expert Drew Cline, Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy, joins The Morning Update host Jeff Chidester to chat about the history of property tax cap measures.

New Hampshire’s legislature is currently debating HB1300, which would impose a tax cap on school district budgets, limiting annual growth to the rate of inflation.

The legislation will allow voters to decide whether to move the school district budget discussions from the underattended spring town meetings to a ballot measure in the highly attended November elections.

Drew and Jeff also had a stimulating conversation about recent legislation that expands and modernizes PEL grants to help more students seeking certification and vocational education tracks. They also had a deeper conversation on a better approach to enriched workforce education opportunities.
