Supreme Court Expert Beth Parlato: SCOTUS Hears Protect Women and Girls Case

“If the Supreme Court can’t define ‘woman,’ then women have no rights left to defend. Her legacy is on the line.” – Payton McNabb, Independent Women sports ambassador

On January 13, the United States Supreme Court was confronted with the question: are women’s sports legal, or will the lie prevail that Americans can ignore the reality of sex? The case heard before SCOTUS will have far-reaching implications for girls’ and women’s sports and safe places, including here in New Hampshire.

Beth Parlato, senior legal counsel for Independent Women’s Law Center, joins us to discuss the case and the oral arguments. Beth also discusses New Hampshire’s SB268. If passed, SB268 would bring long-sought-after clarity to state law by affirming that biological sex is a legitimate and necessary legal classification
