HAMPTON, N.H.- A man from South Carolina is dead and two other people were hospitalized out of an incident early Sunday morning.

A little before 1:30a.m. officers responded to reports of gunfire on Ocean Boulevard and once on scene found a 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman who had been shot.

From there Police were able to get a description of the induvial said to be responsible for the shooting and ended up locating the man later identified as Tyshawn Cooper, 21, at the intersection of P Street and Ashworth Ave, which ended with Cooper shooting himself in the head; however, the New Hampshire Attorney general notes that an officer at the scene also fired his weapon at the same time but did not kill Cooper.

Following Sunday’s incident authorities say and investigation is underway into what not only led to Cooper taking his own life but also shooting the two other induvials prior to his standoff with Police. Authorities also note that while the officer who fired at Cooper did not kill him, he’ll still be subjected to a deadly force incident investigation.

As for the victims both were taken to a local hospital, but authorities have yet to offer an update on their conditions.
