Three crashes involving first responders in Manchester yesterday. The first happened on Tarrytown Road near the entrance to Elliot Hospital. An ambulance collided with a car and rolled over. Fire officials said the ambulance was responding to a call at the time and did not have any patients on board. Two medics inside the ambulance were trapped and Fire crews helped remove them through the ambulance’s windshield. The driver of the other car was not injured.

While responding to that crash, a Manchester police officer was involved in another crash nearby on Valley Street near Jewett Street. The police cruiser and another vehicle were heavily damaged. The officer and two people in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital and are expected to be ok.

Later in the day, a Manchester fire truck was involved in a third crash with a car near the intersection of Merrimack and Chestnut streets.
