HOOKSETT, N.H.– Tech giant Apple Inc. is suing a New England based movie theater chain over its name, claiming the name is creating confusion among customers.

According to court documents back in August of 2025 Apple Inc. filed a trademark infringement lawsuit in which it says it wants Apple Cinemas to change its name as the chain is giving customers the impression the two are related.

Theater owner Sands Media Corp, the owners of Apple Cinemas are disputing that claim and say it is not creating any confusion and that its customers are able to differentiate between Apple the tech company and Apple Cinemas, the movie theater chain.

A hearing on the case had been scheduled for Tuesday, however it was postponed, as both sides asked the court for more time in preparing for the case.
