Authorities identify the man shot and killed by Ashland police

CONCORD,N.H.- Authorities say a Laconia man is dead following a traffic stop that ended in a shootout with police.

According to the Attorney General’s Office an autopsy revealed that Demitri Zimmer died from multiple gunshot wounds after he pulled a gun during a traffic stop Wednesday and fired at police.

Following the incident authorities say the officer who was shot during the incident was taken to an area hospital, treated and released.

As the investigation into the events in question continues, authorities say the names of the officers involved have yet to be released.
