MANCHESTER, N.H.- Governor Kelly Ayotte has been elected to a second term despite the massive Democratic “Blue Wave” seen both across the country and here in the Granite State and says she looks forward to working across the aisle.

On Wednesday the Governor spoke with WMUR-TV and was quick to say she’s grateful for the support of voters, and being elected to a second term, especially given how Republicans did so poorly overall.

“I really appreciate the people of New Hampshire for allowing me the opportunity to continue to serve this awesome state.”

The statement comes as Ayotte will be soon face a House, Senate and Executive Council all of which will feature Democratic majorities. However, Ayotte was quick to say that she believes she’ll be able to work with Democrats.

“I’ve spent my career working on a bipartisan basis, so I’m going to have an outreached hand,” Ayotte said. “We’re going to work together, and we’re going to focus on making sure that New Hampshire remains strong, that we protect our New Hampshire advantage. That’s very important to me, that we work on a bipartisan basis.”

As for what advice she has for her Republican colleagues, Ayotte says they need to focus on the issue of affordability.
