CONCORD, N.H.-Logan Clegg the man convicted of killing a Concord couple was back before a judge Tuesday after the State Supreme Court ordered a review of key evidence in the case.

Prosecutor spent the day defending Police’s use of a warrantless search of Clegg’s cellphone to track him down in Vermont and arrested him for killing Stephen and Djeswende Reid in October of 2022.

As a retired Concord Police supervisor, several detectives and a Verizon employee testified about cellphone data obtained from Verizon after local authorities investigating the case were informed by federal authorities that Clegg was attempting to flee the country and had booked a one-way international flight days after the Reids were killed.

Police maintained they were worried that Clegg would flee the country creating exigent circumstances that prompted an emergency request to track his phone in real time. But Clegg’s attorneys pushed back and claimed officers had plenty of time to obtain a warrant and called some of the testimony about what police would have done speculative.

A detective also testified that even without the emergency request for Clegg’s information from Verizon, Police would have sought the same information through a warrant and that they eventually did obtain that data through that method.

Following the day’s activity, Judge John Kissinger didn’t end up making any decision as the lower court has until June 15, 2026, to reach a decision.
