HOOKSETT, N.H.- Authorities say dozens of animals were removed from a home deemed uninhabitable on Dundee Ave after police executed a search warrant.

Police say officers investigating the home Thursday described the conditions as deplorable and also confirmed that the home had dangerously high levels of ammonia.

Officials say things conditions were so bad inside the home that the search had to be paused so authorities could allow the Hooksett Fire Department to ventilate the building.

In all officials say twenty-nine cats and two dogs were removed from the home but note an estimated 10 to 15 cats remain inside the home.

Once removed from the home the animals were placed in the care of the New Hampshire SPCA and the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire.
