The Environmental Protection Agency said Monday it will expedite New Hampshire’s request to repeal the state’s vehicle inspection program. Gov. Kelly Ayotte signed a law last year ending required inspections, but the company contracted to do those tests sued the state, saying New Hampshire needed federal approval to end the program. Since then, the state has suspended the program. The EPA typically has up to 18 months to make a decision on state petitions but says it will have a proposed decision by early summer and a final decision before the end of this year.
