Five communities battle a fire in Merrimack

MERRIMACK, NH – Merrimack Firefighters responded to a call for a fire at a home on Shore Drive Sunday night.

Crews arrived on scene a little after 8:30 and ended up making a call for Mutual Aid which resulted in support arriving on scene from Bedford, Amherst, Nashua, and Londonderry.

Fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire, which kept the damage to a minimum and in the area of origin in the rear exterior wall. The fire was called under control a little after 9:30 and all fire companies cleared the scene a little before 10:45.

Officials say the residence was occupied at the time of the fire, but no civilian or fire fighter injuries were reported. The fire remains under investigation by the Merrimack Fire Marshal’s Office.
