CONCORD, N.H.- A former corrections officer charged with murder has been found not guilty for his role in the death of a patient at the state prison’s psychiatric unit.
On Wednesday jurors found Matthew Millar not guilty in connection with the death of Jason Rothe.
Authorities say back in April of 2023 six corrections officers were trying to restrain Rothe when Millar put his weight on Rothe’s back and upper neck and left it there for several minutes while he was handcuffed resulting in his death.
Millars attorneys argued that Rothe’s death was the result of a heart attack.
