Governor Kelly Ayotte has issued her first Executive Order which calls for a hiring freeze, in order to help avoid a budget deficit. On Wednesday the Governor issued the order and released a statement explaining how the freeze will allow the state the chance to examine every agency in hopes of finding ways to do things better. However, the freeze does exempt all essential workers, including staff at New Hampshire Hospital and the New Hampshire Veterans Home, those working in child protective services and law enforcement.
