Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais delivered his city budget address for the 2026 fiscal year yesterday. Ruais reduced the school district’s budget request by $9.5 million, approving $236 million instead of the proposed $246 million. His proposal also includes $7 million for roads and infrastructure, another $7 million to increase city employee salaries, and no city funding for hiring new employees. For affordable housing, Ruais announced more than $1 million in federal funding will be used to finish 45 units on Pearl Street.
