23 year old Soren Glasser of Merrimac, Mass was taken into custody after a report of a pedestrian having been struck by a car turned into a felony assault investigation.
According to Newton Police Officers responded reports of an person having been struck by a car near Crane Crossing Road at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 21. Arriving officers found a woman lying severely injured in the street. Initial responding officers quickly determined the incident was not a traffic accident, but rather an assault committed by a passenger in the vehicle.
Authorities identified the suspect as 23-year-old Soren Glasser of Merrimac, Massachusetts. Glasser was taken into custody and charged with one count of second-degree assault and five counts of resisting arrest.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in serious condition due to her injuries.
