Merrimack Valley track and field coach retires after three decades

CONCORD N.H.- A longtime educator and coach has called it a career, after close to 40 years.

In the fall of 1990, Bob Mullen joined Merrimack Valley as a special education teacher. The next semester, he began his first season as the track and field coach.

Mr. Mullen’s father, Don, coached track and field at Concord High School for 28 years.

Bob Mullen’s last official coaching duty was over the past weekend at the New Hampshire Decathlon & Heptathlon Championships at Nashua South High School.

Bob Mullen is retiring after 37 years of coaching and teaching at the regional high school.
