On April 23rd at approximately 11:56 p.m., Troopers from Troop D, Troop G and Bow Police Department, responded to Interstate 89 southbound to the Interstate 93 northbound ramp in the Town of Bow, NH for the report of a rollover Tractor Trailer crash which was over the guard rail.
Troopers located a 2017 Peterbilt, Tractor Trailer truck registered to Bisson G.K. Trucking of Barre, VT that struck then guardrail and then rolled over the guardrail down the embankment on the I93 northbound ramp.
The operator was identified to be one: Christopher Welch, age: 47, Shoreham, VT.
The investigation revealed Welch was traveling southbound on I89 and took the I93 northbound ramp.
Welch was unable to slow accordingly while taking the on ramp, and lost control of the Tractor Trailer. He struck the guardrail on the left side of the ramp and as a result the Tractor Trailer went over the guardrail, rolling down the embankment approximately 30-40 feet. Welch was extricated from the
Tractor Trailer by Bow Fire and Rescue. Welch was transported to Concord Hospital to be evaluated for his injuries.
The Tractor Trailer was carrying milk and ramp remained closed to facilitate cleanup, which was supervised by the Department of Environmental Services. Ramp closure and cleanup was also assisted by NH DOT.
This crash remains under investigation.
