The state attorney general’s office says a man fatally shot a woman, their 18-month-old daughter, and wounded another child before he was found dead of an apparent suicide hours later on the bank of the Merrimack River. The AG says 42-year-old Jamie Bell was seen fleeing the Franklin home on Saturday afternoon. Neighbors said they had heard gunshots. Police found 35-year-old Nicole Hughes and 18-month-old Ariella Bell shot to death. Hughes’ 5-year-old daughter from another relationship was hospitalized and released with a gunshot wound to the arm and a cut on the back. She’s expected to be ok. No word on motive.
