Newport police search for business owner in connection with human trafficking investigation

MANCHESTER, N.H.- Police are currently searching for the business owner of a spa in Newport who’s wanted in connection with an investigation into human trafficking.

According to police Jiang Xiu Yu,50, owner and operator of the Harmony Wellness Spa is wanted on Prostitution and other related offenses along with what’s described as a count of permitting a place under such person’s control to be used for the violation of RSA 645:2.

On Thursday Federal authorites including those from the Department of Homeland Secuirty along with State and local police excuted a search warrant and say police were searching for business records, digital evidence, and digital communcations.

Police say they began their investigation after receiving an anoymous tip called into the Concord Regional Crime Line earlier this month.
