The NH Attorney General has issued a Consumer Alert following a rise in reports of scammers targeting the elderly. In these latest scams the victims are told they’ve won a lottery or sweepstakes but need to pay a certain fee up front to cover taxes, legal, or processing fees, through either a wire transfer, Bitcoin ATM, prepaid gift or debit cards. The AG’s office is reminding everyone to not pay any money, hang up and call your local police department.
