PORTSMOUTH, N.H.- Monday’s blizzard forced a plane carrying more than 100 ICE detainees to land at the Portsmouth International Airport at Pease and remain on the tarmac for more than 12 hours.

Authorities says the plane which originated in Texas and wasn’t able to reach the terminal due to the weather conditions and was finally towed around 2:45pm that afternoon.

Eventually authorities ended up transferring the detainees inside to one of the airport’s terminals where they were provided food.

Authorities say the plane then departed from Portsmouth at 8am Tuesday morning.

Critics of ICE were quick to respond saying the incident was a textbook example of ICE’s operational cruelty and rank incompetence.
