MERRIMACK, N.H.- Hundreds gathered Thursday night in protest following report published last month by the Washington Post saying the town was on the list of possible locations for an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainment center.

Town officials were quick to remind residents that they have yet to officially hear anything from the federal government on the possibly of Immigration setting up in town; however, the Town Council ended up issuing a special provision during its meeting allowing for public comment on the topic.

When asked for comment Gov. Kelly Ayotte told WMUR-TV she has not been notified about the rumored plans for a facility nor has she received any indication that a facility is in the work.
