ROCHESTER N.H.- It looks like the 4th of July wasn’t as festive for one man who authorities allege was involved in an unauthorized fireworks display which escalated into a struggle with police.

Police say Douglas Robbins, 40, is facing multiple charges out of the holiday incident

According to court documents, Rochester Police had previously responded to Robbins business “Robbins Automotive” at 20 Summer St. and spoke with Robbins about displaying fireworks without the required municipal permit. Police noted that Robbins told officers he still intended to display fireworks and was advised that doing so could result in criminal charges.

Rochester’s Fireworks Ordinance prohibits the use, discharge, or explosion of permissible fireworks without a permit issued by the city.
