Sandown man arrested after crash, and charged with assaulting police

SANDOWN, N.H.- Authorities say Kenneth Dovey,54, is facing multiple charges including assault on a police officer following a single-vehicle crash that led to his alleged assault on the responding officers.

According to Police the incident began on Wednesday night when Dovey crashed his car at 220 North Road.

When the officer arrived Dovey approached the officer while refusing to comply with verbal commands.

As the Dovey continued to advance, a physical struggle ensued with Dovey attempting to bite, kick and spit at officers.

Dovey is facing, six counts of simple assault on several police officers, resisting arrest, DWI, driving with a suspended license and open container violation
