During this roundtable, we discuss building and supporting the AARP Network of Age -Friendly Communities. Our Guest:

  • Pat McDermott, NH Volunteer State President
  • Ashley Davis, AARP-NH Community Engagement Director
  • Christina FitzPatrick, State Director of AARP New Hampshire

We start off discuss the 10th Anniversary of The Community Challenge program, a “quick-action” grant program that funds local projects that help make communities more livable for people of all ages. We discuss the purpose of the challenge, this year’s winning qualifiers, and how NH non-profits may apply for future grants.

We also discuss AARP’s work to ensure that our communities are great places to live as we age. What is the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities? What factors go into making a community age-friendly? [8 domains of livability]

We finished the 2026 June Roundtable, summarizing what else AARP is doing to improve community livability and other works to assist Granite Staters.
